NASSAU OFF TRACK BETTING IS CLOSING SHOP

According to a story at newsday.com, Nassau Off-Track Betting advised its employees to retire, use the time owed to them, presumably payback for overtime work, or to continue to work without pay.
Closure of the betting shops and Fast-Track digital terminals has meant “our operation is basically shut down,” according to the agency’s Joseph Cairo, Nassau OTB Chairman.
At this writing, the speculation is that the Fast-Track terminals, already in limited use, would be distributed in the community at restaurants, bars, gas stations, etc., where owners would task their employees to act as cashier and distributor of betting vouchers, presumably for a piece of the action.
Details are sketchy at the moment but HRI will bring you more news as this story continues to develop.
