Anyone who thinks that Andrew Cuomo can close Nassau OTB only on Roman Catholic Palm Sunday and Roman Catholic Easter Sunday in preference to the same holidays as observed by the members of the Greek Orthodox Church should study NY Const. Art. 1, Sec. 3.
NY State, another functionally bankrupt state, lead by a Governor who loves to email people fluff.

Dear Fellow New Yorker:
On this day and every Veterans Day, we honor the men and women of our nation’s Armed Forces who for generations have answered the call of duty to preserve the freedom we as Americans cherish today. In times of war and peace, our service members are on the front line protecting our nation and communities across America. When Hurricane Sandy hit the New York metro area, the men and women of our National Guard were in the hardest-hit communities, protecting the lives of those in harm's way and in the aftermath, providing much-needed food and supplies to New Yorkers whose lives were uprooted by this catastrophic storm. As a society, we must continue to support our service members and veterans, and forever recognize the extraordinary sacrifice made by our soldiers, as well as their families. On behalf of all New Yorkers, I thank our veterans, their families, and all the men and women who put their lives on the line to defend our values and protect our state and nation. Sincerely, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo |
