Public employee pensions in New York State

Annual pensions of retirees

This database includes the annual pensions of state and local government retirees, school support staff and custodians for the fiscal year that ended in March 2011. It does not include teachers and school administrators, New York City police, and firefighters. Under state law, this is public information.
The New York State and Local Retirement System is the largest in the state.
Pension benefits provided through ERS are not subject to state and local taxes. Retirees also receive annual cost-of-living increases if they are 62 and have been retired five years or if they are 55 and have been retired 10 years.

Donald Trump is planning a campaign rally this week in Bethpage — his first on Long Island.
The Republican presidential candidate has requested a permit to hold the rally at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Grumman Studios, Nassau County spokesman Brian Nevin said Saturday night.
County Executive Edward Mangano, a Republican from Bethpage, has not endorsed a candidate for president, but plans to attend the Trump rally, Nevin said.
Nassau Republican Party chairman Joseph Mondello endorsed Trump last month, but county GOP officials said Saturday they had no planned events with Trump’s campaign.
“Mr. Trump was very happy Mr. Mondello endorsed him,” Nassau GOP spokesman Michael Watt said.
The Republican front-runner is seeking to woo Long Islanders before New York’s April 19 presidential primary. He follows rival John Kasich, who is holding rallies Monday in Huntington and at Hofstra University.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has campaigned in Manhattan, but not announced any events on Long Island.
Trump was in Wisconsin Saturday, and his campaign did not return requests for comment.
Steve Carl, owner of Carlyle on the Green in Farmingdale, said Saturday he was coordinating the event at Grumman Studios with Trump’s campaign.
Carl, a former Trump business partner, said the sound stage complex has ample space for the planned event. He said further information, including ticket availability, should be released Monday.
“It’s great for Donald to come back to New York and make an appearance,” Carl said. “It’s important the potential president knows Long Island exists.”

The Multiemployer Pension Reform Act of 2014 (MPRA) amended the Internal Revenue Code to permit a multiemployer plan that is projected to have insufficient funds to reduce pension benefits payable to participants and beneficiaries if certain conditions are satisfied. Treasury is publishing this notice in the Federal Register, in consultation with PBGC and the Department of Labor, to solicit public comments on all aspects of the Road Carriers—Local 707 Pension Fund application.
Comments are requested from interested parties, including contributing employers, employee organizations, and participants and beneficiaries of the Road Carriers—Local 707 Pension Fund. Consideration will be given to any comments that are timely received by Treasury.
