Dear Fellow New Yorker,
Today we celebrate St. Patrick's Day and the great achievements of the Irish-American community. The Empire State would not be what it is today without the invaluable contributions of countless Irish Americans who have helped to shape every aspect of society, from the arts to economic development, labor, education, public service, and business. Irish Americans have been preserving and serving democratic society for generations since the Revolutionary War and the Civil War’s fabled “Fighting 69th,” and enrich all aspects of life in our State and the greater community. On this day, I wish all New Yorkers who celebrate a very happy St. Patrick's Day. Sincerely, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo |
