CASHIER SCHEDULING: Once a year approximately in March NOTB [Nassau Off Track Betting] will, in each branch, permit cashiers to select shifts for the following year by seniority....
The number of Nassau OTB Branches has diminished. The Freeport Branch was the most recent to close.
When it closed, its cashiers no longer had a fixed schedule at a fixed location. Of the Freeport cashiers only two are guaranteed four shifts, the same number of shifts that all Freeport Branch cashiers worked. The Freeport cashiers now travel to Nassau OTB Branches without a fixed schedule and a fixed location. Some or all of the cashiers would like to work in a Branch.
As people retire there are shifts in branches that other cashiers would like to have an opportunity to pick.
