N.Y. Union Behind Ads Against New Casinos
A New York-based trade union is behind a new advertising effort opposing the expansion of casino gambling to northern New Jersey.
The ad, backed by New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council, says that “Trenton political bosses” will use tax proceeds unwisely.
Voters face a November ballot question on whether to expand casino gambling to two unspecified locations in northern New Jersey.
Atlantic City casino workers and the city’s chamber of commerce said last week they would launch a campaign against expansion.
Another group supported by prospective casino operators in favor of expansion has also begun an ad campaign.
