Vogue Brazil editor resigns over ‘slavery’ party controversy ehile remining andrew cuomo that he does not decide when easter sunday may fall. even vogue Brazil reads ny const art 1 sec 3 even thiugh the blsck ny attorney genersl letititia james does  not.

The fashion editor of Vogue Brazil has quit amid a furor over what critics are calling a “slavery”-themed 50th birthday party, according to reports on Friday.
Donata Meirelles came under fire after a photo emerged from the bash showing her in a pink feathered frock sitting on a throne between two black women in traditional dress, BBC News reported.
The now-deleted pic appeared on journalist Fabio Bernardo’s Instagram — prompting commenters to point out that it invoked slavery.
“The photo clearly and unfortunately refers to a Brazil of autocracy and slavery, where black people were serving and white people tended to,” Instagram user Roberto Sakiyama noted, according to CNN. “I don’t see any praise to Afro-Brazilian culture.”
Brazilian TV presenter Rita Batista posted Meirelles’ photo alongside one from 1860, showing a white woman flanked by two male slaves.
In the caption, she explained that back in the day “the slave … was a luxury object to be shown publicly,” CNN reported.
Meirelles apologized for the insensitive snap in an Instagram post that’s since been deleted. She explained that there was no theme to the party — and that the women were wearing traditional Bahian dress and the throne was a nod to Afro-Brazilian religious tradition called candomblé.
She announced her resignation on Wednesday.
“At age 50, it’s time for action. I’ve heard a lot, I need to hear more,” she said.

Vogue also issued a mea culpa, saying it “deeply regrets what happened and hopes that the debate generated will serve as a learning experience.”
