Prepared To Tackle Challenges Facing the Freight Industry
(WASHINGTON) – International Brotherhood of Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa has appointed Ernie Soehl as the director of the Teamsters National Freight Division.
“I am pleased to appoint Ernie Soehl to lead our National Freight Division moving forward,” Hoffa said. “Our freight members continue to face many difficult challenges in an industry that is fraught with uncertainty. I am confident that Ernie will tackle these challenges head on and lead the fight for our members.”
Soehl is currently the Eastern Region Freight Coordinator and the President and Principal Officer of Local 701 in North Brunswick, New Jersey. He also serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of Joint Council 73 in New Jersey.
“I’m honored that I’ve been selected by General President Hoffa to lead the National Freight Division,” Soehl said. “We have our work cut out for us and we’re hitting the ground running. We have many challenges to overcome in the freight industry. I look forward to working with our local union officers, stewards and members as we move forward.”
