Dear Race Fans,
As we navigate this unprecedented time, we want to provide you with an update regarding the status of live racing at Santa Anita Park.
Currently, we are continuing discussions with the LA County Health Department to resume racing under strict protocols. As part of our discussions, our team has presented to local health officials a comprehensive plan that outlines stringent health and safety measures to safeguard both our horses and the dedicated team members who care for them.
With the latest LA County Safer-at-Home order set to expire on May 15, we are targeting that date to continue racing. This reopening is contingent upon the county's Safer-at-Home order expiring that date and the county meeting their necessary metrics.
As we await the decision of the LA County Health Department regarding when live racing may resume at Santa Anita Park, we will continue to consult with Health Department officials and our own independent health experts to assure the safety of our horses, employees, and participants.
For your convenience, you may follow all updates regarding our COVID-19 Health & Safety procedures here.
Lastly, and most importantly, we wish you and your loved ones the very best during this time. We look forward to when we can invite you back to The Great Race Place.
