Nassau OTB once scheduled sexual

harrassment workshops on Christmas Eve and yet Sheldon Silver thinks that Nassau OTB has no right to open every day of the year when tracks are running all across the US that bettors want to bet.

Sessions of Assembly and Senate called off

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver called off Wednesday’s Assembly session because regularly scheduled ethics and sexual harassment training sessions are occupying the members. He said the training is lasting a bit longer than expected so session was called, although the members will be in session on Monday as scheduled.
However, the Senate, which was scheduled to be in session on Monday and Tuesday called off its days of work in Albany for the upcoming week. As a result, the Senate will be vacant next week. Scott Reif, a spokesman for Senate Republicans, said the decision to call off the legislative meeting made sense since Monday was the day before a Jewish holiday that the Senate decided to honor as a non-session day. He said it did not make sense to call members back for just one day, Tuesday, to save taxpayers the expense.
A four-day week is scheduled for the May 20 to 23.
