Peter A. Bee founded the firm after 10 years in county government, beginning in Nassau County’s legislative offices, and ending in 1980 as the Chief of the Municipal Law Bureau of the Nassau County Attorney’s Office. Mr. Bee presently concentrates his practice in the areas of labor and employment law. He has extensive experience in the private and public sector representing employers in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and handling grievances, arbitrations, and related litigation. He has represented municipal corporations at all levels from small special districts to the third largest public employer in New York State. Mr. Bee also represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters, including the defense of claims of discrimination, drafting employee handbooks, and FLSA compliance.
Mr. Bee is a past chairman of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Labor Law Committee and was a contributing author to the first edition of the New York State Bar Association textbook entitled Public Sector Labor & Employment Law in New York State. He has served as a Past President of the Long Island chapter of the Industrial Relations Research Association, and speaks regularly before a variety of professional associations on labor and employment law issues. Mr. Bee is an elected Mayor of the Village of Garden City, a past trustee of Molloy College, a past member of the board of directors of the Interboro Mutual Insurance Company, and a former Garden City school board member. Mr. Bee also has served on a number of boards of civic organizations in Garden City.
Mr. Bee is admitted to practice in the states of New York and Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law.
