Cairo President of Nassau OTB signed a document dated May 8, 2019 purporting to amend the Collective Bargaining Agrrement (CBA) between Nassau OTB and Teamsters Local 707. The writing violated the constitution of the IBT which requires a vote by Local 707 members on changes to the CBA. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. I want to offer you a suggestion: please don't wait by your phone or mailbox for a reply, unless you see the temperature at the gates of Hades approaching the freezing mark. I've written to the IBT before about an issue that was of great concern to many people. They didn't write, call or show up. They simply forwarded to my Local, and told them to "deal with" me. The IBT last year approved a major modification to the already lame YRC contract (made lame by four MOUs). The membership didn't get to vote on it, didn't know anything about it ahead of time, and had no rebuttal opportunity after it was implemented. Basically, the IBT decided what was "best for us" as if we don't have the intelligence to comprehend any of it. The IBT reports to us, not the other way around.
