Cynthia Nixon for Governor

Friends -
When I was 13, my mom found a lump in her breast that she rightly suspected was cancerous.
She had no health coverage, so she found the first job she could get that offered insurance. Then she waited a month — because she was afraid that if she saw a doctor right away, the insurance company would say it was a preexisting condition and refuse to pay.
None of this would happen in a rational, functioning health care system. Health care shouldn’t depend on your ability to find work, how much money you have, or your zip code.
Single-payer health care in New York is not a pipe dream. It’s already passed the state assembly 4 years in a row, but every time it gets blocked by Governor Cuomo’s allies in the Senate.
We can make single-payer a reality if we elect a Governor who is willing to fight for it.
Thanks for standing with me.
All my best,
— Cynthia
