Hi,

Unfortunately, we will not be doing a story on the OTB's PPP loan. Thank you, though, for sending it along.

LD 12 MapBiography:
John R. Ferretti Jr., a Republican, is serving in his second term as Nassau County Legislator in the 15th district after winning his bid for re-election in 2019 by a wide margin. The 15th legislative district encompasses all of Levittown, Salisbury, and parts of East Meadow, Bethpage, Wantagh and Seaford. John grew up in Levittown and graduated from Division Avenue High School. He obtained a Bachelor's degree from Hofstra University and a Juris Doctorate from CUNY School of Law. In addition to being licensed to practice law in the State of New York, he is admitted in the Federal Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
In his first term John introduced multiple pieces of legislation including a law that requires signage at all red light camera intersections, a law that protects Veterans struggling with addiction and a law aimed at eliminating dangerous bicycle "ride-outs," to name a few. John successfully fought to have the 8th police precinct re-opened and for federal ICE agents to remain stationed at the Nassau Correctional facility. In his first term, John brought an unprecedented level of transparency to the office by holding over 20 community Town Hall meetings and introducing a weekly e-newsletter to constituents with information on proposed laws and community updates.
Prior to his tenure as an elected official, John served as the Chief Deputy County Clerk of Nassau County. In that roll, John oversaw over 100 staff members with a $6 million budget and annual revenue collection exceeding $240 million dollars for federal, state, and local governments. John served as liaison to the New York State Land Title Association and assisted in drafting legislation to waive clerk recording fees for victims of Super Storm Sandy.
John currently practices law as an associate trial attorney with the 45-year-old Mineola based law firm Nicolini, Paradise, Ferretti & Sabella where he specializes in bodily injury, subrogation, no-fault, real estate, zoning and land use law.
John is an active member of the community. He is a member of the Levittown School District P.T.A., Levittown Kiwanis, Levittown Chamber of Commerce, Levittown Knights of Columbus, Irish Americans in Government, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Levittown Community Council, the Nassau County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association and is an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 69. He is a lector at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church and an assistant coach for the Levittown West little league.
A lifelong resident of Levittown, John purchased a home two doors down from his childhood home where he currently resides with his wife Maryellen and their two children, John III and Natalie.

At their county convention Tuesday night, the Nassau GOP nominated Hempstead Town Councilman Dennis Dunne, a Levittown Republican who had served on the Nassau County Legislature for 22 years, to run against Sen. Kevin Thomas (D-Levittown) in the 6th Senate District.
