Tom Suozzi Rival Adam Haber Going To Air In First Cable Spot Of Nassau County Exec Contest

Tom Suozzi may want to call it a comeback, but Adam Haber doesn't want him to think it's a cakewalk.
Haber is going up Wednesday with his first TV spot of the Democratic primary for Nassau County executive, portraying himself as the guy who'll get the "hacks" and "cronies" out of government.
In a faint echo of Suozzi's first TV spot of his failed 2006 gubernatorial primary against Eliot Spitzer, Haber, a Roslyn school board member, says he's a "political outsider" who'll give Nassau the "fresh start" it needs to "cut patronage" and "eliminate waste."
Haber's first radio ad of the cycle in his attempt to foil Suozzi, who served as county exec for two terms before spending some time in the private sector, went to air last week.
A spokesman for Suozzi, who's got the backing of the Nassau County Dems, declined to comment on what Team Haber said is a six-figure cable buy. A spokesman for incumbent Republican County Exec Ed Mangano had no such reservations... Read on!
"It's a disgrace that Adam Haber hiked school property taxes by millions of dollars and now expects voters to believe he'll change his reckless pattern," spox Brian Nevin said. "Ed Mangano is the only candidate in the race that froze property taxes for three straight years and helped create over 19,000 private sector jobs."
