Today we honor the courageous men and women who dedicate their lives to serving our country and defending the freedom and values that we hold dear. I have seen firsthand the hard work and dedication of our military members in our state and abroad, and what it takes to protect New York from the threat of global terrorism. We owe our veterans and their families a tremendous debt of gratitude and reaffirm our commitment to provide the support and services they need as they transition home. On Veterans Day, I offer my deepest gratitude to our veterans and servicemembers—America’s true heroes who have made extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of all New Yorkers.
