A group of protesters in Elmont made it loud and clear that they are opposed to the idea of a casino at Belmont Park on Saturday.
“People who leave there at 6 o’clock in the morning coming out after a night of gambling…. It’s not acceptable.” Said Nancy Gross, of Floral Park.
But not everyone is against the idea of a casino at Belmont park.
“It’s so ludicrous to fight against gambling in a place that does gambling, it just doesn’t make sense.” Patrick Nicolosi of the Elmont East End Civic Association said.
With the legislation headed for the New York State Senate and Assembly next, it’s clear the fight over Belmont Park isn’t over yet.
