Robert J. Barletta

Executive Vice President
A specialist in media relations with an extensive background in public affairs, Robert Barletta joined Marino in 2000, and immediately began working with the Home Depot as it expanded throughout the Tri-State area. He helped solidify the company’s place as the go-to source for home improvement needs by implementing “how-to” TV segments across the entire NY media market.
Today, Robert heads Marino's consumer, lifestyle, construction and not-for-profit practices, and leads the agency's food and beverage accounts. He also works with clients across a diverse range of market sectors, such as Walmart, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York, Crain’s New York Business, and the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York. In addition, Robert has brought his personal passion for food and wine to clients like Morton’s The Steakhouse, Castellani Wines, Toscana Promozione, Numero 28 and Biagio Cru and Estate Wines. In early 2013, he spearheaded the development and launch of Égalité, the first national wine dedicated to equality for gay Americans, leading to global media exposure for the product in both traditional and online outlets.
A dual citizen with Italy and fluent in Italian, Robert helped establish a sister-city relationship between Staten Island, NY and the small Tuscan village of Crespina (home to Castellani Wines), as well as a series of visits to the U.S. and Italy by public officials and business leaders. The coverage surrounding these initiatives increased Castellani’s visibility exponentially, leading to a story on the front page of the New York Times, and in media outlets across Italy and the U.S.
Robert began his professional career in government and served as chief of staff for a New Jersey state assembly member, managing legislative initiatives and community and media relations. He drafted landmark legislation in the areas of healthcare and campaign finance reform, and managed several political campaigns as well.
Robert earned a master's degree in public policy from The Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University, and a bachelor’s in history from Trenton State College (now known as The College of New Jersey). He lives in Plainfield, N.J., with his wife Kristen and two sons, Luca and Matteo.
