Dear Nassau OTB employees represented by Teamsters Local 707, Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey Presiding:,
Too many Teamster members are getting hammered with contract givebacks and pension cuts. Our International Union needs a new direction.
It’s time to close the Hoffa-Hall concession stand for good.
That’s why I’m joining forces with Teamsters across the country and announcing my candidacy for Teamster General President.
Teamster members kicked off the Teamsters United campaign with a bang this morning at our kickoff event in New York.
Fred Zuckerman, the president of Louisville Local 89, joined us for the kickoff.
In the last International election, the opposition forces were divided. This time, we’re coming together as Teamsters United—a coalition that unites Teamsters with different opinions around a common goal of electing new International Union leadership and rebuilding Teamster power
We’re asking for your support for the Teamsters United team. But more importantly we’re asking for your participation.
We will win this election the same way we will rebuild union power—by mobilizing and involving Teamster members. That starts today and it starts with you.
We will be announcing more campaign plans soon, including upcoming organizing meetings and trainings for campaign volunteers.
We will be running a slate of candidates for International Union office, but it will take a grassroots army of Teamster volunteers to win.
Take the first step. Sign up for Teamsters United campaign updates at TeamstersUnited.org
In solidarity,
Tim Sylvester
P.S. Do you have an idea for how to make our union or this campaign stronger? I want to hear it. Email me at timsylvester804@gmail.com. Together, we can rebuild Teamster Power.
