VOTERS' GUIDEGENERAL ELECTION - NOVEMBER 5, 2019

Kevin J. McCaffrey

Kevin J. McCaffrey is running for Suffolk County legislator, 14th District
Kevin J. McCaffrey
REPUBLICAN
McCaffrey, 65, is running on the Republican, Conservative and Libertarian lines. An incumbent in his third term and a Lindenhurst resident, McCaffrey seeks re-election.
ISSUES:
  • McCaffrey said he is most concerned about making Long Island affordable since “nobody leaves Long Island because they don’t like the beaches, but because they can’t afford to live here.” The county, he said, could be more involved in leading the way to affordability by practicing greater fiscal responsibility.
  • Her said he supports economic development projects that yield a return on investment, adding he as deputy mayor of Lindenhurst was involved in a 291-unit project now being constructed.
  • McCaffrey said he worries about the opioid crisis, adding that while the deaths have declined, even a single overdose or death “is one too many.”
