Verified Purchase
I purchased this router so I could lower my Verizon cable bill. I returned my rented router to the Verizon store. I plugged this one in and it worked right away. For months Verizon kept charging me rental fees. I would spend time every month challenging the fees over the phone. Finally Verizon told me that the man I bought this from did not own it and he had no right to sell it to me. Verizon continues to charge me router rental fees. I intend to dispute the charge for this router with either Amazon or my credit card company. Verizon says this is becoming a big problem.

Verified Purchase
Buyer beware! I've been dealing with this nightmare with Verizon for months now. I initially bought a router through ebay that Verizon (erroneously) claimed was stolen and is "Verizon property" and I would be charged a monthly rental fee. I returned to the ebay seller and purchased another one from Amazon. Verizon is now saying THIS router is ALSO "Verizon property". So, what the customer service person told me was that even if Joe has purchased his router outright, Joe can't sell the router to ME- so I will be charged a "rental" fee for my purchased router- even though its not Verizons router. Per Verizon: Verizon has a strict policy when it comes to exchanging equipment. When equipment is purchased on an account, that router is only able to be used on that account. When others sell the router 3rd party, or find our routers lying around from a previous tenant for example and placed on a different account, we in return charge a rental fee for that router since it is no longer being used by the original subscriber. This is our policy across the board. It may not be ideal for some, but that's Verizon's process.
