A man who authorities said was the leader of the Hell's Angels motorcycle gang in Manhattan's East Village section was arrested yesterday and charged with the murder of a woman who had been thrown off the roof of the gang's headquarters last fall, according to the police.

The man, Vincent Girolamo, 31 years old, was arrested in the headquarters at 77 East Third Street. He was charged with throwing Mary Ann Campbell, 22, of Brooklyn, off the six‐story building early on the morning of Sept. 21, 1977.

The police said the arrest came as result of a six‐month investigation. Mr. Girolamo, the police said, was being held in lieu of bail.
