Dear Fellow New Yorker,
This Memorial Day, as we enjoy time with friends and loved ones, we pause to remember the brave men and women who answered the call and made the ultimate sacrifice so that we might enjoy those freedoms.
Today, flags on all state government buildings will be flown at half-staff, and the POW-MIA flag will be displayed over all state buildings and facilities. Please also join me in observing a moment of silence today at 3 p.m. Around New York and across the country, we will participate in the National Moment of Remembrance to honor those who died in service to the nation.
On behalf of all New Yorkers, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of our fallen heroes, and endless gratitude to all who have served and continue to serve.
We celebrate that service, we honor their lives, and we remember.
